Tom Croswell is chief executive officer, responsible for leading the executive team, ensuring a strong culture of quality, innovation, and customer service, and defining the strategic focus of one of the region’s largest non-profit health and well-being organizations.

Previously, Tom was CEO of Tufts Health Plan. Prior to that, he was senior vice president of medical management and specialty businesses at CIGNA HealthCare. He also served as president of CIGNA’s dental, pharmacy, and workers’ compensation businesses, and led the development of its consumer-directed health care products. Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership roles at Prudential Insurance Company, including president of its Western Region and senior vice president of its individual insurance organization.

Tom is currently chair of the Massachusetts Association of Health Plans (MAHP), which represents 17 health plans covering more than 2.6 million Massachusetts residents. He is a member of the New England Council, Massachusetts Business Roundtable, Rhode Island Quality Institute, and America’s Health Insurance Plans. In addition, he is a board member emeritus for the Alzheimer’s Association MA/NH chapter, for which he has served as board chair. He is also a member of CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion, committed to advance diversity and inclusion in the workplace. He is a former member of the board of directors of the National Committee on Quality Assurance and the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce.

Tom completed the Wharton Advanced Management Program at the University of Pennsylvania and earned a BA from Syracuse University. He is a chartered life underwriter.
